Keep in mind that turtle eggs hatch only on sand and red sand. Another thing to note is that they only progress when the player is awake and within 50 blocks of range.

This is something most gamers don’t know about it. Turtle eggs hatch fastly during the night as compared to daytime. So 4 eggs can be placed up in a single block. This can slow down the hatching process.
